Question by Chris: What do you think about the Barefoot Bandit?
A fascinating real-life story about adventure, theft (credit cards, food from home to home), fantasy, and island hopping by stealing and flying airplanes. 18 year old Colton Harris Moore is finally captured and arrested on Eleuthera Island in Bahamas. This real-life saga reminds me so much of the movie Catch Me If You Can (Leonardo De Caprio) which was based on true story & life of Frank Abagnale Jr. He’s become famous (or infamous) on the Internet (Facebook, YouTube, etc) as well as offline in the entertainment industry.

Question by krycek1717: Is Anybody Else Annoyed With the Book Publishing Industry?
Okay, maybe I just came here to vent, but everytime I walk into a bookstore, it seems like my only choices of a read are books with titles like ‘my shitty childhood,’ ‘woe is me, I had such a hard beginning,’ and other such tales. Either that or so called self-penned celebrity bios’, (and let’s face it, anyone who pays attention to the small print will realise that Katie Price never contributed one word to her so called novels, isn’t this worse than plaigarism?? At best, it makes her a liar. And why are the publishing houses shelling out millions in royalties to so called celebrities when for the most part, their books end in bargain bins for 50p?) Who actually buys this rubbish? Where have all the real books gone? You know, the ones where writers had something profound to say, or books that allowed for some adventure. I read books to escape real life for a little while, not be confronted by it. Anyone else feel me?

Start looking for out of country authors. Perhaps the real question is where have all the American authors gone?

Question by Emily: Are there television shows that film in Ireland?
I work in the wardrobe department of a major american talk show and absolutely love it. I am going to be graduating this coming year and would like to continue working in the industry but I also want to live out my dream of living overseas. Does anyone know if there are shows that film in Ireland and if there is a union you have to be a member of to work in wardrobe? I really don’t totally care what part of Ireland, I am looking for an adventure! Also, would my citizenship be a problem? There is a possibility of getting dual citizenship as my dad is a British citizen. Thanks!

Question by alaskanmetal: Are there any legit job agencies for work in foriegn countries or are they just scams?
I am very skeptical of any job agency that offers work overseas but I would like to go on such an adventure. I seek work in almost any country that loves Americans. I need not make allot of money, I want to do it for the adventure. I am a welder of 26+ years and single… currently working in the Alaskan oil industry on the north slope.

There is a real demand for skilled American workers abroad but there are so many scammers that it is very difficult to find off shore employment. The best way is through a friend or relative that is working off shore.
If any agency asks for money before you go to work, run ! They ware crooked.

Question by jonrdraper: READY to move to Hawaii immediately, but not sure to what Island to move, or which towns have job opportunity?
I’ve got a couple of thousand saved up…and I’m ready for a new adventure. But I’m not sure as to what Island in Hawaii has the most to offer for a transplant. I’m looking for great local beaches, smaller community-type that’s self-supportive with decent-enough paying jobs. Further, what industries are in constant-hire mode, and are there any difficulties I can expect in obtaining employment? Any other information is welcomed…Thanks.

Best answer:

Answer by Tim W
I think you would have better luck in a big city on the mainland. A couple thousand won’t last long at all.
